Accessories

Outdoor sleeping accessories consist of extra blankets, sheets, quilts, ponchos, sweatshirts and pillows. These accessories provide extra warmth and/or comfort during long, cold nights in the wilderness. Without these outdoor sleeping accessories, one could have a very undesirable camping trip.

Cots, Mattresses & Pads

Cots are used on campsites to raise the user above the cold ground and increase comfort. Usually, a sleeping bag would be used on top of the cot to provide warmth, but the cot itself is a mattress type material.

Mattresses can be portable and transported to campsites for sleeping. Small, thin mattresses are perfect for cots, but there are also inflatable mattresses. The inflatable mattresses are convenient because when they are deflated they can fold up into a tiny box or stuff bag to fit in a backpack for easy transit.

Mattress pads are used to provide an added layer between the mattress and the sleeping bag or your body. Insulation is provided through the use of a mattress pad, as well as added coziness.

sleeping Bags
Sleeping bags are an essential tool for campers. Besides the use of a cot or a camper, a real outdoorsy person will just set up a tent and sleep on the ground in a sleeping bag. Of course putting a sleeping bag on a cot, mattress or pad will increase the comfort of the camping experience. Sleeping bags come in various shapes and sizes to conform to the user’s needs. There are sleeping bags that have temperature ratings for different seasons, so as not to overheat a camper in the summer time but to make sure a wintertime camper is warmed properly. Some sleeping bags are heavy to carry, but down sleeping bags are on average six pounds and do not get wet so they are optimal for most campers.
