Accessories

Heater accessories can be described as any tools that help transport or improve the efficiency of compact, portable heaters. A fan is one example of a heater accessory that can nicely complement a camping heater, because often the intense heat given off does not travel much farther than a campfire would. The fan disperses the air to a wider area, helping more people stay warm. Another heater accessory is a travel case for the heater itself. Heaters can be heavy and awkward to carry, therefore requiring a travel case to make the task of transporting it easier.

Catalytic

Catalytic Heaters are small units originally developed by the military to keep soldiers and materials warm. It is only recently that they have become available for public use. These small units are normally powered by propane so they are small, efficient, and inexpensive to power. The size of the unit might leave you wary at first, but don’t fret these tiny machines can heat small spaces rapidly and safely.

Convection

A convection heater is a simple unit that is powered via propane to heat the air. The unit pulls in air through the bottom and circulates it, warming the air and then pushes it from the top of the unit. These units are not safe for home use, but can be a viable solution for camping in cold weather. With the convenience of a propane unit there is no use for electricity and it is powered inexpensively.

There are several options for powering your convection heater the options include: electric, propane, and natural gas.

Forced Air
Forced Air
A forced air heater pushes air from one end of a tube around an open flame which then heats the air before pushing it out the other side. Forced air heaters are unsafe for indoor, or use in tents. As such forced air heaters should only be used in out door areas. Forced air heaters are normally powered by natural gas, or propane however rarely you can come across an electric forced air heater.
