Binoculars

Binoculars are used to help the human eyes reach farther distances. They are usually hand-held devices that enlarge images using two identical miniature sized telescopes side by side, one for each eye. Telescopes are inconvenient for hikers, Boy Scouts, travelers, hunters and birdwatchers because they are large to set up and only have one eye piece. For these types of consumers, binoculars are far better suited for the occasion.

Binoculars provide the viewer with a three-dimensional view from both eyes which merge to create a depth perception to estimate distance. Binoculars are common components of scout gear and camping equipment. The price for binoculars range from five dollars to thousands of dollars depending on the bells and whistles the consumer prefers. Waterproofing and optical coatings (to impart sharper images) are common options that add to the quality (and price) of the binoculars, however if those are desirable features for a consumer, they are likely to make the purchase and benefit greatly from it.

Cameras

Cameras, in simple terminology, are devices used to capture images. A camera consists of four essential elements. The first element of a basic camera is an enclosure which protects images from additional light which destroys the picture. Next is a pinhole, or an entryway for the image to be captured. The pinhole, nowadays comes with a lens setup as well to allow more light in. A shutter is then required to open and close the pinhole of the camera and control the time that the pinhole is open to capture the image. Lastly is the means of capturing and storing the image, which is film or a digital processor. Cameras are used commonly for taking photographs of things the user would like to remember.
